Farringdon Elizabeth Line Opening

BFK (Bam, Ferrovial, Kier) JV

BFK is a joint venture comprising three of the world's leading tunnelling, civil engineering and construction companies: BAM Nuttall, Ferrovial Construction and Kier Construction.

Farringdon Underground Station is located in the heart of Central London and is known as a busy interchange point for thousands of bustling commuters each day.

Despite undergoing multiple upgrades in the past, Farringdon Underground Station was in need of a major overhaul to accommodate the increase in passenger traffic expected as a result of the opening of the new Elizabeth line (formerly Crossrail).

We were asked to visit the underground station during the construction stages of the project and, upon completion, to capture footage of the construction works, renovation, and finally of the completed and refurbished underground station and brand new Elizabeth Line. Ahead of the doors imminently re-opening to many excited and intrigued London commuters, we were lucky enough to interview some of the brilliant minds behind the project!

Capturing a whole host of creative cutaways and arty aesthetic shots, the content we managed to capture serves as a great reflection of all the hard work and creative ingenuity that went into the construction of the station and the Elizabeth Line.

The re-opening of the station ended up being brought forward, so with only a day's notice for our final visit and without any pre-prepared scripts, our team came up with some 'on-the-fly' interview prompts to ensure the Senior Team could convey all the passion and creativity behind the project.

The final video was shared far and wide not only on BFK's channels but also by the individual partners of the Joint Venture: BAM Nuttall, Ferrovial Construction, and Kier Construction. As a result of this great behind-the-scenes insight, the renovation works were hailed far and wide across platforms like LinkedIn and online news publications.

We felt very lucky to experience the station and the Elizabeth Line before they were unveiled to the general public. Farringdon Underground Station is now one of the most modern and efficient transport hubs in London, capable of serving passengers for generations to come.
